Seattle and the Mariners

On our way home from Deception Pass we stopped in Seattle to see a Mariner's game with Erik's parents, his sister and brother-in-law, and their 3 year old daughter. We arrived in Seattle a little early, so we grabbed a bite to eat and wandered through Pike's Market. Erik bought Avery a $5 bouquet of sweet peas and chrysanthemums, then we watched fish being thrown at the fish market, listened to a band play outside of the very first Starbucks, and took Avery to the gum wall in an alley beneath the market. She even got a badge from a Seattle policeman. That's a pretty great day for a 4-year-old.

After the market we headed to Safeco Field for Avery's first Mariner's game. Avery and her cousin Bella were't all that interested in the game, but they sure liked being together. Plus they looked really cute in their little blue and pink Mariner hats.

It was a pretty great trip.

Pike's Market is such an amazing place -- and always makes for jaw-dropping photos, don't you think? The colors and smells and general busy hubbub is pretty fantastic. I've been there three times and wish I lived a lot closer :)

Yep, that's about the best 4 year old day ever! What a fun way to end the trip (and I love that the girls were just happy to be together - cousins are so much fun, especially at that age!)
