Being Sick and Rambling

How is it already mid-January? Avery got sick when she went back to school after the holidays and then graciously gave me her cold (I don't even remember the last time I was sick). We've had a lot of sleepless nights, a lot of coughing, a lot of runny noses. We pretty much spent a week snuggling in front of the fire in our jammies. On a side note, in November we switched from ceiling heat to wood stove heat, and last month alone we saved $75. I didn't even mind having to go outside in the freezing cold to get wood.

The only good thing about being sick was introducing Avery to Anne of Green Gables. My brother-in-law gave me the DVD for Christmas, and I immediately ordered the sequel. So we spent the week with Anne, Diana, Marilla, Matthew and Gilbert. And let me tell you...Avery LOVED it. Her favorite part was when Anne quotes Tennyson while floating in the boat, and then Gilbert rescues her. She thought that was the best thing ever. To be honest, it was one of my favorite parts when I was a kid.

Avery was given the most amazing Christmas present from my Aunt Sandy and my Grandma (Avery's Great-Grandma, "GG"). It's called My Giant Busy Box, and it's filled with crafts. It has everything you could think of...animal cutouts, buttons, feathers, pipe cleaners, clay, glue, tissue paper, stickers...everything. Avery loves it, and she's made the cutest little projects with it. It was the best thing to have with a sick kid.

We're finally over our colds, but Avery is still struggling to sleep through the night for some reason. Hopefully we'll be back to our normal sleep routine in the next day or two. Cross your fingers...we could all use some sleep.

Something must be going around, because I caught a little of the same cold that you did. Mine is still lingering, hope yours has passed already--it's no fun!

And I'm really digging that craft box for Avery, looks like there's tons to get creative with!

So sorry you guys were sick but glad you're feeling better now! Chloe hasn't been sleeping so well either lately, which makes for a grumpy Mommy! lol Hopefully you guys can get lots of rest soon!

Oh you poor things! Hoping you both get well soon (and get some solid sleep!)!

Luckily we've got this good snuggle weather going on in the PNW :)

Feel better! I'm jealous of your real winter though (although we've had actual winter in Houston this week which is nice)... I've never seen those! But I was big into Little House on the Prarie as a kiddo.

LOVED the Alex craft box! That's awesome. I may have to get it for Max although I'm guessing it's 3+ - I can just watch him closely.

I am actually really jealous of your wood pile. Heating our little house gets more and more expensive every year.

Its such as you read my mind! You appear pandora charm bracelet to know so much about this, such as you wrote the ebook in it or something. pandora charm bracelet , I think that you just could do with some % to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, that is great blog. A fantastic read. I'll definitely be back.

Anne of Green Gables was one of my favorites as a kid! I watched all of the movies and then read all of the books! I can't wait to share them with my little one!
